I remember coming to orientation this summer and the head police guy informing us that parking decals have gone up from $30 to $120!!! I didn’t think anything else about it because I mean I’m not the one having to pay for it. The first day of class, I have chemistry, this class, music appreciation, and sociology. I didn’t have a problem parking at the chemistry building but then I have to come to this class and the last two. I was extremely late because I could not find a parking space! So…I just followed the crowd and parked on the curb. After a stressful first day and having to get financial things situated I come to my car relieved I was getting to come home. As I approach, I see this wonderful piece of paper fluttering on my windshield. I then notice that there isn’t just one on my car but also on all the other cars parked on the curb. It ended up being just a warning but I was still ticked off!!! At this point in time, I was going to march myself to the police station thingy and tell them a piece of my mind. I mean they expect you to pay $120 for a parking decal but there isn’t enough parking!!! What kind of crap is that! I ended up just leaving and coming home and even though the parking isn’t as bad as it was that first day, and I can actually find a parking space, it is still ridiculous.

i agree! parking here is ridiculous! Usually i just keep my car parked in the freshman dorm parking lot and walk to most of my classes. But when it’s raining, I am NOT about to walk everywhere! But the parking decal cost is outrageous. If you can’t find a parking spot, why should you have to pay for parking? I understand that students who live on campus should have to pay to park, but for those who commute the cost is too much. And the fact that the faculty have to pay! I’m not a faculty member but it still makes me mad!

the only problem that i have with the parking decals is that they aren’t removable. i would prefer to have a magnetic one or one of those that go on the inside of your window so that it can be removed without a hassle. But no, we have to get ones that don’t come completely off without extensive preparation.
